I love this city.

Gorgeous, right? I took this shot several weekends ago on that photo outing.

It is no wonder that MC and DH, the two guys from elementary school, are still in this city. I’d run into DH several years back when I first moved back to the area, and we had seen each other maybe once or twice since. I found MC on Facebook. Sometimes that site is useful. This was one such instance. Catching up over dinner and drinks last night turned out quite well.

We’re all grown up now. It’s strange.

Refresh!

The beginning of the year is whizzing by. Here’s the evidence. For one, it is already late March. The first day of spring has already passed. I have changed the password on my work computer a few times. I have gone in to get the braces adjusted several times as well. The spaces are much, MUCH smaller, by the way!

No longer working the 55-minimums. The 40-hour work weeks have “resumed.” I put that in quotes as it is not set in stone and can be changed at any given time. It just depends on how much work needs to be done. For now, it’s nice to leave work when the sun is still out.

My brain isn’t mushy from overworking anymore. I have no excuse for being bland. There are way too many distractions out there. I need to learn to put that all in the back burner. I need to prioritize. My back has recuperated from the shock of the accident in January. I should start jogging. I have the shoes. I can make the time. It’s time to hit the refresh button. It’s time to work on me again.

Tonight, I’m catching up with two guys from elementary school. Not sure if I am excited or nervous. I have already caught up with one before, so it shouldn’t be weird. Maybe I will just let them do all the talking. Will provide details once it is over and done with.

The photo attached to this entry is one taken in the Mission. 88. 8 is my favorite number. Turn it sideways. It becomes infinity. I don’t know what happens when you double infinity.

A friend took this on Sunday. I like it a lot.

We wandered around the city, starting first in Nob Hill. We made our way to Chinatown and then to the Mission. Then an hour or so laying out at Dolores Park. I love those sort of weekends. Another friend says that Dolores Park = love. It is, if love = laying out, slight breeze, catching the Vitamin D [among other whiffs in the air]… And I always forget to bring a blanket. Thankfully on both occasions, a friend was already waiting there. I guess he’s right.

If it isn’t love, it’s the next best thing.

Mini Escape [Point Reyes]

Last month, I signed up to be part of a date auction. On Saturday, we went on our date. I drove the three of us up to Point Reyes for the day. Most of the time, the two others talked, and I took pictures. I know I’m more talkative than that, but lately, I’ve not felt that way. I just want to sit and relax and not have to say a word. It was beautiful out, but oh so windy! Too windy for whale watching, sadly.

Escape.

I would love it very much if I would stop receiving emails with deals on flights. I am so tempted to just hop on a plane and just get out of here. $99 to San Diego and back on some random weekend. That sounds so wonderful right now. That would be the spontaneous me, the one not tied down by all the responsibility. I really shouldn’t leave yet, and I should focus on doing what needs to get done.

I’m so antsy though. Grrrr.

Dogs.

Hung out with pooches this weekend. Well, just for Saturday. It was a potluck picnic out by Lake Merced. Everyone was supposed to bring something from their childhood. So there was quite the assortment of food – from “ants on a log” to Shepherd’s Pie to meat loaf… YUM.

Adorable, right? The first is Señor Miguel Bongo Wongo. The second is Roxie who is more stylish than I will ever be. She showed up in Coach. Hahaha. We didn’t take Cici out because she would have gotten tired of it pretty quickly. When that happens, all she does is keep on jumping onto us until we finally take her home. She is a bit anti-social after awhile, just like me…

I crack under pressure.

A word from Rob Brezny:

A Brazilian man told his wife he wanted a divorce. Consumed with wrath, she laced his orange juice with a sedative and then sliced off his penis while he was unconscious. Fortunately, surgeons successfully reattached the organ. Later the man absolved his wife of her sin, and they reconciled. “She was stressed and I understand her reasons,” he said. I hope his saintly feat inspires you to be equally magnanimous, Libra. It’s a perfect moment for you to forgive people you thought you could never forgive — to go way beyond your previous limits in extending tolerance, mercy, and slack.

Why, yes, I could certain take a chill pill these days.

Fern!

Despite being so overloaded at work, I have found some time to get out. I continued my obsession with the fern at Muir Woods.
