I have Achilles tendinitis. Saturday night, I went dancing [which up until the week before, I hadn't done in a club in awhile], and I must not have stretched enough, or perhaps I did some crazy dance move because now I can barely walk. I walk like an old lady! My left Achilles tendon hurts when I attempt to put any weight on it to get from Point A to Point B.

While I’m talking about it, other body ailments! Keane and I went to a friend’s birthday party on Saturday evening before the dancing, and we both ate something that didn’t sit well in our stomachs. So most of Sunday morning, I was suffering. I didn’t find out about Keane also having issues until much later in the day. Once the stomach pains went away in the morning, I checked out the Folsom Street Fair. Since I was in heels all day, I didn’t notice my Achilles tendon hurting… The stomach pains continued on later in the day, so RV drove me home quickly. After resting a few hours, I was able to put down an In & Out burger – YUM! Unfortunately, that was also when I began limping from pain.

Monday, it got worse. I even went to see a doctor. He gave me crutches and suggested that I see a specialist, which I did today. It took me half an hour or more to transport myself 0.5 miles. It SUCKED! I seriously was going to have a panic attack about not being able to get home. Luckily, RV came by and picked me up. We ended up grabbing dinner where I proceeded to bleed all over my napkins. Nose bleed! Ugh.

My body’s protesting.

I saw the specialist today. Hence, the verdict. I’m supposed to wear heels, relieve some of that pressure, and take some anti-inflammatory medication.

Venus in Sagittarius
You try to be very fair and just with all of your friends.

You are usually very friendly and quite outgoing. You don’t hide your feelings for others, for you are open about your emotions. People will probably like this in you, and you should have many friends. However, you do not like possessive people or those who use friendship to tie you down.

I definitely do try to be fair. I tend not to take sides, or I can see both sides, and therefore do not clearly choose one over the other.

No comment on the friendly and outgoing or openness of emotions, as sometimes I find that I am neither, and I don’t even understand my own emotions. I’m guessing that this is just a particular aspect that pops up now and again when the stars are aligned just right.

Neptune in Sagittarius
This placement should produce a generation of extreme idealists. Even with older people, this energy has brought about a religious revival unparalleled in this century. As is characteristic of both Neptune and Sagittarius, most of these religions are sects from other countries such as India, and their teachings are quite foreign to Western tradition. However, there is also a strong Christian revival, especially among the fundamentalist and Pentecostal sects. The children of this time will continue that trend.

I’m not quite sure I understand this one.

Uranus in Scorpio
This generation of children may exhibit rather difficult moods and, according to adult standards, seem to act compulsively. It is rather difficult to get them to talk about their feelings, which they can’t easily express in words. However, as they get older they will want to make sweeping changes in the world around them. As a generation they aren’t likely to do things halfway, and the changes they work for will be extremely important. When they are older they may develop new techniques of therapy and healing for both mind and body. They encounter human needs at a very intimate and feeling level and try very hard to implement whatever measures seem necessary.

This describes me perfectly. Compulsive behavior – check. Difficult moods – check. Okay, only sometimes. Difficulty in talking about feelings – definitely. And yes, I want to change the world…

Moon in Cancer
Because Cancer is the sign most closely connected with the Moon, you can be very strong and secure emotionally.

Being close to your mother is especially important, and you need a lot of love and affection from her as well as from others in your family. When you’re older, you’ll be very good at giving the same kind of support to others and taking care of people in need.

Feelings are more important to you than logical thinking, which seems cold or boring.

You are easily hurt by criticism. It’s not that you are weak or fragile, but that you are unusually sensitive to other people’s feelings.

I wish I was as strong and secure emotionally as this little bit implies. And I am definitely not as close to my mother as I would want to be. The mom and I have an interesting relationship. I guess it’s considered a close one compared to so many others, but it could be so different. You know, like those mother-daughter relationships portrayed in movies…

Feelings are important, but knowing how my personality is, I tend to seek out the logical to balance it. I’m surprised that even having the moon in Cancer would put me in a position of placing feelings over logic. S, who is a Cancer, was always the more logical one.

Criticism does hurt, and I wonder if sometimes I am actually overly sensitive to others.

I received a response! They’re available for download as wallpapers now. I am guessing there were a lot of people asking about them. I was really hoping that they would just send me the ads, but it looks like I can have ‘em print up in whatever size I like. I guess this will go on my “To Do” list. I wonder how much it will eventually cost to get them the size and quality that I want…

It’s definitely a form letter, but at least the question was addressed.

Continuing with my introspective posts, today I’ll take a look at my signs in Leo. These are all from the free chart I got from plugging my birth date, time, and place at Astro.com.

Leo Rising
You like to be the center of attention, to appear strong, confident and dominant, even if something is bothering you.

You like to be the leader, and you can be a good one as long as you remember that leadership is a responsibility as well as power and privilege.

You can be stubborn, especially if your pride is involved. You are idealistic, and people have to prove to you that they have integrity.

You like to have rich and elegant things that you can show off to others. But remember that just because something impresses people, it is not necessarily good. You need to learn the difference.

Others may or may not see you as beautiful or handsome, but as you grow up you will develop a regal bearing that will make others feel that you are dependable. Many people will like you, and most will also respect you.

I think that these characteristics tie into the fact that I am an older sibling. I tend to be bossy. I like to have things my way. I like to appear in control, even if something is bothering me. I don’t actually like to be the center of attention, so on that front, the Leo side doesn’t come out as much. However, I do wish to be accepted and liked, so there’s that.

The elegance and beauty bit tie into being a Libra. I suppose I can’t help admiring and adoring the beautiful.

I do think that most of my friends see me as dependable. I try to be.

Mars in Leo
You have a great deal of pride, and you enjoy doing things on your own initiative. An appeal to your sense of fairness brings out the best in you, and you will do anything to maintain these qualities.

At times you may act arrogant and domineering toward others. You can’t always be first, but you have such a need to be a leader that it may be difficult for you to accept anyone else in this role.

Not as confident as I’d like to be. Hopefully I don’t act domineering and arrogant, but again, as I mentioned above, it might be the older sibling in me that brings those characteristics out.

A few days ago, I sent an email to BART to see if there was a way to get these posters for Dentyne’s “Make Face Time” campaign. No answer so far. So I went onto the Dentyne website to see if I could find a way to contact them. Through their contact form, I emailed them a request.

I doubt I’ll get one. So sad.

As a 4-type, I know I shouldn’t spend so much time looking internally because there’s a chance that I might get really caught up in my head. Still, I think it’s important for me to examine those inner parts and see what I can work on. Last weekend was relatively rough emotionally, and I’d really like not to go back to that. The lamest part is not knowing why and just being a certain way. Frustrating.

Astro.Com is pretty nifty in that they provide a free chart if you just plug in your birth date, time, and place. So I guess I’ll spend the next few entries diving into the bits and pieces of my chart to figure out areas I can/cannot work on. It also doesn’t hurt that half of what’s there tells me how wonderful I am. Hahaha.

Sun in Libra
You are warm and affectionate, and you enjoy being with people. Yet you are not retiring, in fact, you are quite strong willed and often the person in a group who makes things happen.

Very often when you have to make a decision, you have great difficulty making up your mind. This is because you see both sides very clearly, and it is hard to choose between them. I am definitely warm and affectionate with the individuals in my life who get beyond that initial barrier. I value the relationships that I get myself into, both friendships and romantic ones [read further below], so I think I subconsciously have a very reserved personality until I get to know them and can open up. I wouldn’t say that I am the person in the group to make things happen, but sometimes that is the case. I don’t like the sense of responsibility if the group is not having a good time, and my laziness often comes into play. So I’m not often the person in the group making things happen… if I can help it.

A true Libra is all about aesthetics and beauty. There is nothing wrong with enjoying beauty and surrounding oneself in beauty. Of course, I think I also find beauty where others may not see it, so it’s really subjective anyway. There are very few things that I find ugly and dislike, except maybe in a one’s personality…

Very true in terms of the decision-making process. It’s long and arduous. Yet I often find myself being spontaneous because I get tired of my own inability in decision-making. I guess I save the weighing out of both sides of a decision for the major ones, like career/school/relationships, rather than what I’m going to do one weekend versus the next.

Mercury in Libra
You make up your mind very carefully, for you don’t like to jump to conclusions. You prefer to spend as much time as possible looking at each choice and weighing every point of view.

This can be very useful, but sometimes you take so long that other people get impatient. Every choice looks so good that you find it difficult to choose. Whenever two points of view conflict, you prefer to compromise and combine the two, rather than reject one of them. You are moderate in everything you do and won’t ever go to extremes.

Yeah, yeah, I know. I want the best of everything. Why can’t I have it all? That’s why I can spend forever researching something and then when it comes to going through the process, I’ve researched the heck out of it so much that I’m out of questions and concerns.

As I mentioned earlier, even I get sick of my indecisiveness, so for the decisions affecting the fun factor, I’m all about spontaneity.

Jupiter in Libra
You will do best in life if you can keep a perfect balance between extremes. Don’t do anything to excess, and examine both sides of every issue before making a decision.

Beauty is very important to you as an indication of order in the universe. You will always enjoy elegance, the more spectacular the better. At a very early age you will learn to see beauty in every possible situation.

Your relationships with others will be very important to your inner spiritual growth. You will discover more about yourself through the people you attract and your relationships with them than through any other means.

With your highly developed sense of justice, you do not like to see anyone get the short end of the stick.

Moderation is the key. Making thoughtful decisions is also important. Being fair. Surrounding myself in company that I admire. That’s me – I get it.

Saturn in Libra
This placement indicates that you need plenty of time to make decisions and that you always want to know everything about the subject before making up your mind.

You may be somewhat reserved in relations with others, but once you commit yourself, you will stay with that person – friend or lover – for a long time. You are conscious of rules and duty toward your friends, and you are not likely to break an agreement that you have made with someone. You take relationships so seriously that you would never make an agreement lightly.

You are very concerned that everyone has what they deserve, and your sense of justice is outraged when someone gets away with something unfairly or takes advantage of someone else.

Yup, noted above. All signs point to how much of a Libra I really am. Every planet is pointing in the same direction?

Pluto in Libra
This placement lasts from 1971 to 1984. For those who are now adults, this period represents the greatest breakdown in modern history in the relationship of marriage. Many couples live together without getting married, and those that marry often do not stay married. Because of the general instability of their parents’ marriages, the children of this era will have a much more fluid but unstable view of relationships and mutual commitments between people. They may be very reluctant to make binding agreements because of their childhood experience of marriage.

I’d like to think that I am hopeful and optimistic, but it might be true. When I think of marriage, I don’t see it as something for me… I mean, there were times when S and I were together that I even played with the idea in my head, but this was much farther along in the relationship, and I think the key for me is to even get to that level of trust with someone again.

In early July and late September, I took two exams. I finally received the Advisory Scores for both, and they are passing! So happy about that. I’ve not been motivated to study much these days. Going out too much, I guess, and work is also bombarding me from all sides. But at least I’ve passed two. Two to go! I have 18 months from passing that first one to finish the other two, or I lose credit. Yikes!

This appears to be old news now [based on a few internet searches I did, just a few weeks old], but I recently found myself on BART again and noticed these Dentyne ad posters.

I absolutely love them! Therefore, I am on a quest to acquire them. I emailed the BART Station and In-Train Poster Advertising guy to find out what happens to the posters once they are done with the specific campaign. Doubt I’ll be able to get my grubby fingers on ‘em, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
