One of my 101 in 1001 will be to learn various types of dancing. I’m starting early though! A new friend of mine [We shall call him "RV" for very obvious reasons - his initials.] has recently expressed interest in becoming my dance partner. Well, I asked, and he didn’t say no. Haha. I’m excited and happy about that because finding a dance partner is half the battle, isn’t it? So we are starting salsa lessons this week! I’m not sure how many it will take to actually be able to dance the dance, but I’m not the guy, so I don’t have to worry about leading. All the pressure is on him!
We were going to start tonight, but he’s working on some art project. We shall begin on Wednesday night. We might check out Cheryl Burke’s dance studio here in SF! Not sure how many classes she actually teaches, but it’s just a name.
On a side note, I’m not certain why some people are referred to by initials and others by their full first names. It might have to do with there being multiple people with the same first names or very common names.

OH HOW FUN!!! I love to dance. I took ballroom dancing in college for 2 semesters and absolutely LOVED IT. I also love Salsa…I learned how to in Mexico and I am really not good at it, but I still love el ritmo ;-). I would love to go with you when you explore other styles of dance. I’ll even go partnerless (my bf would NEVER agree to it) and scout out the crowd for you *haha*….Oh, you know that when you learn to dance you have to constantly switch partners, right???

@H. (aka NC_State_gal): The comment made it through. :) Yes, I will let you know when I learn the other dances. We did the rotations last night, and it was good b/c I got to see how salsa was done with the counting done correctly. RV still has a lot to learn. He said he’s practicing the steps at home!
