First Award!
While RV and I were enjoying the long Memorial Day weekend in Southern Utah [photos and write-up coming soon!], NYC Island Gal so kindly awarded me the Super Comments Award.
When I go through my Google Reader feed of blogs each day, I tend not to lurk. It just isn’t my style. It might seem random at first, considering I happen across new pages every day, and they have no idea who I am. But how do you get to know someone without starting a conversation? And in most cases, I think people become discouraged with writing if they think nobody is actually reading.
I left comments for NYC Island Gal in that exact way, and I’m glad to hear it didn’t creep her out!

I don't think people get creeped out by comments as long as they're thoughtful. There is a fine line, though…Thankfully, I haven't experienced any weirdness yet.
I'd rather someone leave a comment rather than visit my site many, many times without saying a word. That's lurking! I can see it. It's creepy! :p
I love your attitude – blogging is so much about connecting, you've got to make the first move! =)
Congrats on the award! I know that everyone blogs differently, but I definitely believe in commenting – how else can you start a friendship? I've never met a blogger who disliked comments (at least among those who turn comments on), so I always assume that people love getting them.
:) i enjoy the comments i get from you suki!
glad someone gave you an official award.
i hereby give you an unofficial award!!
maybe i'll cut out something out of paper… to make it less unofficial…

lol – you're hilarious, linda! :) i guess i'll have something to look forward to once i respond to your letter, which i received last week, btw.
Thanks, Alli!
If the comments are on, I am likely to say something… Except when I am catching up after a 4-day weekend and have 140+ entries to read. :P
And it's easier to make the first move through a blog comment than in person anyway. :P Once it's posted out there, sometimes you have the chance to take it back, but it's less awkward than a face-to-face meeting for the first time!
congrats well deserved!
