Friday’s Feast Questions: here!

Appetizer: How many times per day do you usually laugh?

As often as I can! It really depends on how I am spending my day, and who I am hanging out with. Sometimes I am even breaking a personal record with the laughing at work because of engaging colleagues. Other days, I don’t laugh at all.

Soup: What do your sunglasses look like?

Normal. Not all Paris Hilton-like at all. They are the functional type. Ever since I got my LASIK, it’s all about sunglasses that work to block out the UV rays that are harmful to the eyes!

Salad: You win a free trip to anywhere on your continent, but you have to travel by train. Where do you go?

Oh, I would travel across the country! There’s so much to see from California to the East Coast. If I had all the time in the world, I would take the most scenic route!

Main Course: Name one thing you consider a great quality about living in your town/city.

Weather is usually pretty moderate. People are usually friendly. What’s not to love about San Francisco? Sure, it’s not perfect, but I still love it.

Dessert: If the sky could be another color, what color do you think would look best?

Something that’s not too bright, something soothing. Perhaps a really light green? Or a lavender? But really, if you knew anything about science, the sky isn’t really any color.

Friday’s Feast Questions: here!

Appetizer: What is your middle name? Would you change any of your names if you could? If so, what would you like to be called?

My middle name is my Chinese name. It’s not on my birth certificate, so it’s not official. I don’t really tell people about it, and I will certainly not disclose that information here. However, there was a time when I wanted to change my Chinese name to sound just like my first name. There was also a time when I thought that I’d want my sister’s name as my middle name.

Soup: If you were a fashion designer, which fabrics, colors, and styles would you probably use the most?

There’s a reason I’m not a fashion designer.

Salad: What is your least favorite chore, and why?

Cleaning the toilet? I’m okay with washing dishes and doing laundry. I just never feel like doing any of that when my work day is so long, and I could be out having fun instead.

Main Course: What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?

Scary movies about ghosts and spirits. Ghost stories. I watched The Changeling in 4th grade. That was some scary business! It was released in 1980, so they relied heavily on the picture and sound.

Dessert: Where are you sitting right now? Name 3 things you can see at this moment.

I’m in an office. I see a parking lot. I see my new car. I also see train tracks.

Questions: here!

Appetizer: Name 2 things you would like to accomplish in 2008.

I want to pass that awful CPA exam that I have been wanting to pass for the last couple of years. I’m horrible at this! I also want to get in shape. I’m not in bad shape, just would like to be HEALTHY. I’m going to start by running… I have the shoes already.

There is so much more that I could add to the list, but here I am – starting small and slowly. I don’t want to overwhelm myself. My last horoscope read along the lines of getting to know myself and developing the relationship with myself. This week’s says:

Lake Vostok is as big as Lake Ontario, but no one on earth knew about it until 1996. Scientists who had been drilling through Antarctica’s thick sheets of ice discovered it two miles below the surface. Here’s what they were able to find out about the ancient lake: Hermetically sealed off for at least a half million years, it gets no sunlight, has an average temperature below zero, and may harbor life forms as exotic as those on other planets. And yes, it’s in a liquid state, for reasons you can read about at tinyurl.com/2lq79d. All that, Libra, is prelude to the following announcement: Lake Vostok will be one of your Prime Metaphors in 2008. I predict you will dig deep to discover an ancient, pristine mystery at the bottom of your life. In my astrological opinion, you should explore it thoroughly, driven by both an innocent sense of wonder and a robust analytical curiosity.

Same deal – discovering oneself. I’m down for that.

Soup: With which cartoon character do you share personality traits?

Not really sure on this one. Cartoon characters are great in that whatever personality traits they possess, it’s always in some exaggerated form. Entertaining, but not sure which would be most similar to myself.

Salad: What time of day (or night) were you born?

I was born at 1:50 in the morning. That would probably explain why I can stay up so late and why I function best late at night. Or it could be a bunch of bullcrap that I use as an excuse not to go to bed on time.

Main Course: Tell us something special about your hometown.

San Francisco is my hometown. I don’t think it needs me to talk about how special it is. Everyone’s already heard stories here and there. I guess one cool thing since it was in the middle of the Gold Rush is that it is sometimes referred to as “Old Gold Mountain” in Chinese!

Dessert: If you could receive a letter from anyone in the world, who would you want to get one from?

Not sure yet. Most likely if I could choose the TYPE of letter, I would want to receive an acceptance letter from somewhere.

My poor excuse of an entry today – WOO! Friday’s Feast questions: here!

Appetizer: What was the last game you purchased?

I don’t really buy games. If anything at all, it would probably be some discounted board game from Barnes and Noble or something.

Soup: Name something in which you don’t believe.

I try not to be a pessimist, so I am always hopeful. I don’t believe in closing one’s mind completely to new ideas.

Salad: If you could choose a celebrity to be your boss, who would you pick?

Someone not bratty or snotty. :) I don’t know who that would be. I’m sure there’s a list out there of ideal employers. But really – who wouldn’t want to work for themselves?

Main Course: What was a lesson you had to learn the hard way?

Things don’t always work out, even if you put the time and effort into them. It’s a sad truth, but you can only move ahead and take what you’ve learned and apply it for future reference. At least it’s a lesson learned and not a repeated mistake – possibly.

Dessert: Describe your idea of the perfect relaxation room.

Soothing music. Not too hot. Not too cold. Pillows. A massage chair or bed. An area with good lighting and a comfy place to curl up with a book.

Haven’t done these in a little while. Here goes! Friday’s Feast questions: here!

Appetizer: What is your favorite carnival/amusement park ride?

I like the fastest roller coasters, the ones that get your blood pumping, adrenaline rushing. They might possibly flip you upside down, but that’s not even required. The best ones have cameras to take pictures of you in the moment. I spend the entire ride with a certain expression glued to my face. Try holding that while flipping in circles and moving at high speeds. It’s awesome!

Soup: How do you react in uncomfortable social situations?

I often retreat. Uncomfortable social situations confuse me, and while I want to understand them, I need to back off before I can take a look and figure it out. Sometimes I don’t realize until much later. I’m awkward.

Salad: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy discussing deep, philosophical topics?

I do enjoy deep, philosophical topics with engaging individuals who will respect another’s opinion, rather than putting them down for not being correct. I will say “7″ for this.

Main Course: Did you get a flu shot this year? If not, do you plan to?

No flu shot this year. No plans to.

Dessert: Approximately how many hours per week do you spend watching television?

I’d say, around 2-4 hours. Not that much. That would be about the same as a show or two, sometimes even less.

Appetizer: Name a sound you WOULD like to hear.

The sound of the UPS truck rolling up. The sound of my dog barking as the UPS guy comes running up the stairs. The doorbell. The ripping of the packaging as I tear open my box. The sound of the camera taking a photo. Yeah, not likely.

Soup: What is your favorite kind of cheese?

I like string cheese, which I am guessing is mozzarella? Blue cheese and brie! Not really FAVORITES, but the only ones I’ll bother to ask for.

Salad: Do you sleep late on Saturday mornings? Why or why not?

Depends on if I have anything to do. Last weekend, I had my exam to take, so I slept in as much as I could before rolling out of bed to drive to lunch first, and then went on to take my exam.

Main Course: When was the last time you forgot something? What was it, and how long did it take to remember it?

Oh, I’m forgetful. I just hope I don’t leave anything too important from the packing of my bags.

Dessert: Fill in the blank: I notice ____________ when _____________.

I notice _______ when _________. Yeah, I’m full of blanks for now.

Appetizer: List 3 emotions you experienced this week.

Sad because of how things are going. I feel horrible for what I’ve done, but at the same time, it was time. Frantic because I have an exam tomorrow. Lots of studying. Calm once he called me. I think we can be friends. I was worried. And that’s only to name a few – I’m a freakin’ roller coaster.

Soup: Name a car you’d love to have.

I used to want a Mini Cooper, but they’re a bit too tiny for a tall gal like myself. When I was young, my dream car was some sort of sedan. I wanted a 4-door car that would have enough leg room to get me and the family around. Now, I don’t really know…

Salad: Describe your typical morning routine.

Snooze. Snooze. Snooze. Wake up. Wash face. Brush teeth. Brush hair one way or another, only to realize it’s just going to be crappy anyway. Throw on some clean clothes. Run out the door.

Main Course: Have you ever emailed someone famous? If so, who, and what did you say to them? Did they reply?

Nope. Wow, that was an easy question.

Dessert: Do you listen to podcasts? If so, which ones?

No, I don’t. That’s too many things to keep updated on. I mean, I’ll listen to some if I happen upon them, but I don’t follow any regularly.

Appetizer: Tell about a time when you had to be brave.

I think that anytime that I have to go in to see a doctor of any kind, I’m being brave. Used to be so afraid of needles – I’d want to run out of the office!

Soup: Which upcoming movie are you excited about seeing?

I’m excited to see Shrek the Third because I just LOVE that series! Pirates of the Caribbean also – just want to finally get to the end of it.

Salad: Name an item you try to always have on hand.

Nowadays, my sunglasses. Got to keep these lovely light browns under protection from the harmful UV rays!

Main Course: Imagine the most relaxing room you can think of. Now describe it!

The most relaxing one I can think of is one without walls…

Dessert: On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being highest), how spiritual or religious are you?

I’m more spiritual than religious, so I’d say a 7…

Appetizer: Name something you would not want to own.

Granny panties! Sorry that was the first thing to come to mind.

Soup: Describe your hair (texture, color, length, etc.).

Mostly black, hints of brown when in the sun. Not particularly thick or thin, although it seems like I have a whole lot of it. I shed and shed, and yet I am nowhere near bald. THANK GOODNESS. It is now down past my shoulders, and I’d like to cut it some day and maybe get some bangs as well. My hair tends to get frizzy.

Salad: Finish this sentence: I’ll never forget ___________.

You.

Main Course: Which famous person would you like to be for one day? Why?

That’s a tough one. I might never have an answer to that one.

Dessert: Write one sentence about yourself that includes one thing that is true and another thing that is not.

I am so excited about my upcoming trip to Spain [true] alone [false]!

Appetizer: How fast can you type?

I haven’t tested myself in awhile, but I used to range in the upper 70′s, lower 80′s. It helps to have been typing since before I could even remember. My dad would sit me in front of this typewriter to practice, and boy did I hate that typewriter! It was the old school kind where the buttons are hard to press, and whenever you skip to the next line, it goes *DING*.

Soup: What is your favorite online game?

Any of the games at Orisinal. They keep me fairly entertained when bored.

Salad: On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 as highest), how intelligent do you think you are?

I might not be the smartest, but darn it – I’m at least an 8. That’s an A-/B+, right?

Main Course: Name three of your best teachers from your school years.

Mrs. Brown, Ms. Dunn, and Mr. Abaya. Mrs. Brown was my 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. I was, without a doubt, a teacher’s pet in her case. Ms. Dunn taught 4th and 5th, and Mr. Abaya taught some 5th, mostly 6th. He was my favorite though. He made PE, Science, and History, if not fun, bearable.

Dessert: What are your plans for this upcoming weekend?

Nothing too crazy. A dinner on Saturday, and my flight out to Idaho on Sunday.
