Dream Notes

My sister and I were there. It was the restaurant of someone who I went to high school with. It was much smaller than we expected. Small to the point where it seemed to be a narrow walkway with barely any stools. I don’t even remember ordering food. There was also a raffle, but there were two distinct categories. If you bought three of them together, they were in one raffle, while the single tickets were in the other raffle. I don’t recall if there was winning of a prize, but all I remember now is that then there was running. It was more like a race, and at the end, we had to try on these black running shoes. I asked for an 11 in women’s, but it didn’t fit. They didn’t have a 10.5, so they gave me a 9 in men’s. The styles differed slightly.

In an effort to improve memory of dreams, I’m writing down even the little things I do remember…

Refresh!

The beginning of the year is whizzing by. Here’s the evidence. For one, it is already late March. The first day of spring has already passed. I have changed the password on my work computer a few times. I have gone in to get the braces adjusted several times as well. The spaces are much, MUCH smaller, by the way!

No longer working the 55-minimums. The 40-hour work weeks have “resumed.” I put that in quotes as it is not set in stone and can be changed at any given time. It just depends on how much work needs to be done. For now, it’s nice to leave work when the sun is still out.

My brain isn’t mushy from overworking anymore. I have no excuse for being bland. There are way too many distractions out there. I need to learn to put that all in the back burner. I need to prioritize. My back has recuperated from the shock of the accident in January. I should start jogging. I have the shoes. I can make the time. It’s time to hit the refresh button. It’s time to work on me again.

Tonight, I’m catching up with two guys from elementary school. Not sure if I am excited or nervous. I have already caught up with one before, so it shouldn’t be weird. Maybe I will just let them do all the talking. Will provide details once it is over and done with.

The photo attached to this entry is one taken in the Mission. 88. 8 is my favorite number. Turn it sideways. It becomes infinity. I don’t know what happens when you double infinity.

Weak Sauce!

I decided not to venture outdoors for running and went to the gym instead. What a different environment! I brought music just in case I got too bored running to nowhere. Listened to some radio, tried to read some television. Went about 1.5 miles before I felt faint… so I hopped off the treadmill, grabbed some water, and rowed 1,300 meters on the Erg instead.

I r weak!

No excuse!

As my luck would have it, the first week that would actually count for running in 2008 is horribly stormy and rainy. Well, today it was off and on, so one really couldn’t tell. Instead of going to the gym as I had hoped to, I went to the mall. HAH! I didn’t only make frivolous purchases of NAP pillows and clothing [only one shirt!]. Finally got the humidifier that I need. No more nosebleeds!

The plan is to run tomorrow. I know it will rain, so I will just have to suck it up and go to the gym. Then, off to an all-I-can-eat brunch with champagne + orange juice [so going to make mimosas!] and oysters too! It will, unfortunately, be in San Jose and isn’t the cheapest brunch, but I will have a ride and will make the most of the good company and good food.

I’ve started reading Murakami‘s Dance Dance Dance. It doesn’t suck me in as some other books have, but there is still something about his writing [or the translation of his writing]. I’m putting sticky tabs on pages like I have done with other books. The lines are somewhat ordinary, but something about them compels me to want to remember or take note. I’ll have to reread those pages later and take notes. The book is borrowed, so I can’t just keep my sticky tabs in there.

I’m a runner?

I love how anytime I am asked about what is new in my life, I mention running. It’s a big deal! I don’t normally exercise, so I am proud of the fact that I’m keeping in shape by running. So the first time, I ran about 1.5 miles and was sore for a week. The second time, twice the mileage and not as sore! It means my legs are getting stronger. Hooray!

Can’t wait to see how fast I can go…
