An update on the 101 in 1001 list:

032 – Go on a photo excursion at least once every two months with the Nikon D40.
It wasn’t really an excursion. I just had the camera with me, but the intent of this particular task is to get myself out there and using the fancy camera. And that is exactly what I did. These were taken through a car window as RV and I were driving from SOMA to the Western Addition. It’s interesting to see how different of a scene one notices as a passenger, rather than the driver.

I’ve not yet uploaded the photos from the holiday party. In fact, I’m behind in the uploading of other pictures taken in November! I love how every time I write, I’m playing catch up, and I’m in awe of how time quickly goes by and how everything seems to change at an equally rapid pace, despite how very little seems to change.

Everything changes, while nothing changes.

I spent my birthday wandering the city with RV, taking photos. It was such a nice day out. We went to the Lyon Street Steps, gawked at the fancy homes in the area, hopped on by the Lucas Arts area to take pictures with Yoda… and ended our wandering at China Beach.

I brought out my zoom lens, so even though we were not anywhere CLOSE to the Palace of Fine Arts, we had a great view of it. The water was so blue and perfect.

This is one of the fancy schmancy houses we gawked at. Really, some people in SF are all money. I doubt that at the rate of my money-making skills, I will ever be one of these people. Funny though. We probably wouldn’t want to be one of those people. Too much space to take care of and pay for!

We made silly shadows in the sand. Since RV is the exact same height as me, he tries to stand on tiptoes when we take photos. That’s why his shadow is taller.

Mona’s Birthday/Halloween party tonight! RV still needs a costume, and I will probably just throw on some wings to turn my corset/skirt outfit into a costume.

Every so often, I call S. It’s like chatting with an old friend, rather than an old lover. The conversation is not strained, and even though it’s been over a year since we last saw each other, it still seems so fresh and so new. We seem always able to pick up from where we left off, no matter the situation. I often wonder what he thinks of these random conversations, these random catch-up sessions, peeks into one another’s lives… I miss him, but I know it’s not of the romantic variety. It’s the familiarity and comfort.

It appears that they are using some old marble from an old building. I haven’t had a chance to check out the inside of the museum, but it’s a pretty neat-looking structure on the outside.

New camera was purchased. Many of you insisted that there was no fuzzy circle on the lens that showed up on the photos. Here’s some evidence:

You’ll notice it in the clouds in the first photo, and then in the second, it’s more obvious than that… So yeah, hopefully the new camera gets here in time. It’s a Canon SD800 to replace my SD400. The SD400 was really my parents’ anyway. :p I’ve just been hogging it this whole time!
